Indian equities dropped on Tuesday erasing earlier gains led by banking, FMCG and realty stocks. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex declined 182 or 0.95% at 18,969 with 19 components registering drop. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went down by 56 or 0.97% at 5,687 with 35 components posting drop.

The markets ended a choppy session of trade on a flat note following weak cues from Asia, losses in the ADAG pack post the SEBI action and softness in realty and capital goods. The Sensex was up 21points at 18,882 and the Nifty was up 0.2 points at 5655.
